It all started in this room. Ellen dreamed about a library clothed in her wedding dress as she wrote her vows at an antique desk. There was a massive and beautiful oak tree outside the window, but it was a place she had never been. As she and Zach began to plan their wedding, she told Elizabeth, their coordinator, about the dream. Elizabeth immediately knew of a venue exactly like her dream—Hodge Podge Lodge. The desk had been sold a few weeks before their wedding, but as soon as they toured the venue, it was destiny fulfilled. This was one of the most emotional weddings I have had the privilege to photograph. The love was SO tangible. Ellen’s only wedding photo request was that she wanted to look ridiculously happy in her pictures. Zach and Ellen’s smile and joyful spirits were so contagious.
Ellen’s beautiful mother. Her spirit was most certainly felt.
“How is everyone not crying right now?!” –The maid of honor lol!
First look with Ellen’s father. I cry every time.
I can give you 1,000 guesses as to what song they walked out to, and you’d never guess…The HALO (Yes, the video game) theme song. My gamer heart rejoiced!
Ellen’s father gave the most emotional and sweetest toast. He wrote a letter to Ellen’s mother to tell her about Zach & their wedding day. There wasn’t a dry eye.
